A new report by Nielsen revealed information on smartphone buyers within the past three months comparing iPhone, BlackBerry and Android sales.  According to the report, 58 percent of people chose to purchase an Android device over an iPhone or BlackBerry.  Read Original Content




The Interactive Advertising Bureau of Canada has broken down the revenue generators of the $52.1 million in mobile advertising during 2010.  Advertising for packaged goods was the highest revenue generator taking 22 percent, with telecom ads taking 19 percent.  Read Original Content

Internet radio company Pandora’s usage on mobile and other connected devices is 70 percent of its total usage.  Mobile revenue in the second quarter of 2011 was about half of all revenue the company generated.  The company reported revenue of $67 million, up 117 percent from a year ago, beating Wall Street expectations of $60.3 million.  Read Original Content

Marketers are discovering that mobile ads are an affective medium to promote products.  Marketing firm 360i has found through a survey that mobile ads are more affective than traditional online advertising campaigns. A study by Yahoo and Ipsos has listed the top seven cases where smartphone users recall and engage with an advertisement on their device.  Sixty-five percent of respondents admit that they remember viewing an ad while shopping on their smartphone, with half of those respondents clicking on the ad and following the advertisement to the site of origin.  Read Original Content
