Good Technology has released its analysis of mobile device activations among enterprise customers over the second quarter of 2012. The data shows Android smartphone usage doubling, with Apple's iOS continuing to lead, and the iPhone 4S at the head of the pack.

Messaging apps that enable smartphone users to send unlimited free messages to their friends are cannibalizing SMS revenue. Infonetics Research has estimated global smartphone sales totaled $45.9 billion in the first quarter of 2012, down 3 percent from the typically high fourth quarter, Infonetics also estimates by 2016, the worldwide smartphone market to hit $237 billion.  Read Original Content

Amazon is to introduce up to five or six tablet SKUs, or stock-keeping units, according Demos Parneros, president of U.S. Retail for Staples, which sells the Fire. The tablets will be different sizes, including a 10-inch model, Parneros said.  Read Original Content
