A new report from Frost & Sullivan predicts that market revenues for electronic health record systems will peak at $6.5 billion in 2012. The health IT market has experienced significant growth in recent years since Medicare began threatening hospitals with financial penalties for those not increasing technology solutions. Darren Herman recently conducted a study on the amount of digital market share controlled by Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, Facebook and AOL.  The study concludes that these five companies take 64 percent of market revenues. Read Original Content



According to Strategy Analytics, Samsung-made Android devices have outpaced Apple devices.  In the third quarter of 2011, Samsung shipped 28 million units while Apple only sold 17 million iPhones. Read Original Content



A report by PricewaterhouseCoopers estimates that over the next five years digital spending — defined as spending on broadband and mobile access, wired and mobile advertising, video on demand, digital music, online movie rentals, video games and newspaper and magazine advertising — will climb from below 20 percent of all entertainment and media spending in the U.S. to over 26 percent.  Globally, the firm expects digital spending to hit 33 percent of all spending on media and entertainment by 2014.
