According to the mHealth App Developer Economics 2014 report, there are now 100,000 apps dedicated to mobile health, a number that has doubled over the last two years. Swiss remote cardiac monitoring company LifeWatch has received FDA clearance for LifeWatch Vital Signs Patch, the company’s adhesive patch for remote patient monitoring. Imaging giant Kodak is about to enter the smartphone market when it launches its new Android smartphone at the Consumer Electronics Show 2015 in Las Vegas in January.

Smartphone shipments in China this year are expected to have increased 20 percent year-on-year to reach 420 million units, said IDC.
