Welcome to the Mobile Cyber Security News Weekly, our newest online newsletter. Mobile Cyber Security will focus on the most interesting news, articles and links related to mobile and cyber security, mobile malware, mobile application management, cyber warfare (and more!) that I run across each week.  I am specifically targeting market trend information.

A global survey of 214 senior dealmakers by law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has found 90 percent of respondents said cyber breaches would result in a reduction in deal value, but 78 percent say cybersecurity isn’t a risk that is currently analyzed in-depth or dealt with in deal due diligence. The Star N9500, a cheap Android-powered smartphone made in China, ships with more than just an 8-megapixel camera and quad-core processor, according G Data, a Germany cyber-security company. The company says it has discovered malicious software—which could be used to track the phone’s user and manipulate the device remotely—embedded in the device. Read Original Content

Apple Inc. has said that location-tracking functions of its software can’t be used to identify activity of individuals in China as it seeks to refute claims on state-owned media that its iPhones pose a security risk. Read Original Content

MarketsandMarkets expects the Middle East Cyber Security Market to be $5.17 billion in 2014 and is expected to grow to $9.56 billion in 2019. This represents an estimated Compound Annual Growth Rate of 13.07 percent from 2014 to 2019. Read Original Content
